Well, CA claimed it's a "pilot run" to tax EV owners per/mile driven... something like 30cents per/mile.

How much you wanna bet this will be implemented after the "Pilot" run?

this tax combine with the charging fees will probably equal to a regular gas vehicle... Good going CA.
