C. Schemer (Schumers): "Every day gets better for Democrats during 'Shutdown'..." Everyday that people suffer, fed workers don't get paid, military personnel don't get paid, first responders don't get paid, etc etc are getting better for Democrats.. is what he's really saying.

Now, the number 2 high ranking Dems (Democrat House Whip Katherine Clark) let it slipped again..."I mean, shutdown are terrible and of course there will be, you know, families are going to suffer. We (putting hand to her heart) take that responsibility very seriously, but it is one of the few leverage times we have..." Basically, she's saying that Dems know people are suffering but it's a price to pay for their political leverage to make Trump and GOP look bad...
