The Great Escape

This movie has given ideas to prisoners in many countries. In your Hmong community,
there was a dig and a flawless escape around 1986 or so in Ban Vinai when the
Thai prison guards fell asleep deep into the night one time.

The film was shown by a Thai mobile theater around 1979 in Ban Vinai. The Hmong prisoners
were smugglers and opium addicts who were locked up in a dirt-only cell near the exit of the camp.

In several African countries, a few prisoners have also dug under the walls and left into the deep
jungles without being recaptured. Those escapes came after this movie made its way to that continent.

This scene is the best from that Western movie. The entire movie is based on true stories of war-time pilots who
dug a tunnel to escape the Stalag Luft III prison in Germany in March 1944.
