Corvette Driver Pulled Over at "148 MPH in a 65” Told CHP He Was Headed to His Grandmother's House
There are plenty of excuses drivers give officers when caught speeding, but one excuse that a speeding Chevrolet C5 Corvette driver gave a California Highway Patrol officer clearly stood out.

A YouTube video uploaded by California Bodycam shows the officer intercepting a white Corvette on Interstate 80 in Solano. Upon being pulled over, the Corvette driver told the officer he was headed to his grandmother's house.

However, the officer was furious because he had recorded the Corvette hitting 148 mph in a 65 mph zone, an offense that could potentially lead to the car being impounded and the driver serving jail time.

Despite the severity of the violation, the officer did not arrest the driver or impound his Corvette.

People in the Comments Question How the Corvette Driver Was Let Off So Easily
Several viewers have expressed their views on the incident, with most believing that the Corvette driver should have been arrested. Some reactions are below:

One user wrote:

"Seriously, he should have gone to jail and no license."

Another user wrote along similar lines:

"Wow he should have been arrested and car confiscated. Risking lives everyone on the road and he even had a passenger."
