I see why pork is generally cheaper than beef.

Quote
Why Pork Costs Less
• Growth Speed: Pigs reach market weight in about 5 to 6 months, while cattle take 18 to 24 months.
• Feed Efficiency: Pigs convert feed into body weight much faster and more efficiently than cattle.
• Reproduction: Sows have large litters of 7 to 12 piglets twice a year, whereas cows typically produce only one calf per year.
• Supply and Demand: Beef herds have faced severe reductions due to droughts and high production costs, driving beef prices up much faster than pork.
Price Comparison
• Pork: Budget-friendly cuts like pork shoulder or pork loin commonly cost between $2.00 and $4.00 per pound.
• Beef: Standard cuts like ground beef often start around $5.00 to $7.00 per pound, while steaks easily exceed $10.00 to $30.00 per pound.
