In my case, there is a point because I dont' have internet access at the office but my labtop was able to pick up access nearby. My wired port is connected to network printer with no internet access. So when i want to use to surf the internet i would have to  unplung the cord.

Determine what IP address your work DHCP server is assigning your PC.
Set your LAN settings for static. Enter IP address and subnet mask only. *No gateway address.*
Configure your printer settings for IP printing.  Add printer, Local printer, TCP/IP (enter printer's IP address).
Enable your wireless connection and enjoy.

If I lost you with the terminology, then it will be easier to just plug the LAN cable in when you want to print.
