I used to love watching this video.  I always thought Martika was so pretty...and the song has so much memory attached to it.

"Toy Soldier" by Martika

I don't have much memories/brokern hearts attached to these songs since I was just a little girl but I recalled listening to them. Most of them I have not even seen the videos but glad I'm able to see some of these videos now.

That song reminds me of a time when I was a sophomore in high school and my friend and her husband (she had married young) picked me up to hang in their neighborhood.  He husband had this really cool fixed up Nissan sedan 'cause they were considered "wealthy" and lived the "good life".  I knew the song before and liked it but that ride with the bass and all really made me love this song.

It also made me fall in love with this song:  "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" by Air Supply.

Sadly, when my friend's husband (ex, then) turned 21, he committed suicide.  If only he know that real life begins in one's late 20's and 30's and forward, he wouldn't have taken the troubles in his young adult life so serious.  :(

Can't forget about Michael Jackson. His vedios were always so entertaining.

My all time favorites

Black or White
Love the changing faces at the end. Show it to my 3yr old and she was also enjoying the beats of the song and changing faces at the end.

Yes, sometimes it's how and when you hear a certain song that brings back memories.

Sorry to hear about your friend's husband. Why did he commite suicide if you don't mind sharing?

I think the 20 so years in between helps one heal.  Also, as we get older, we begin to realize how important living is because we realize how short life really is.

He cheated on my friend and when he tried to ask for her back she turned him down and he couldn't live with that.  They had a couple of kids together and he wanted a complete family.  The situation still holds a sad spot in my heart.
