NFL threatens to 'do away with' kickoffs if the play doesn't become safer

Members of the NFL's competition committee say kickoffs need to become less dangerous or the play will be removed from the game altogether.

I don’t see football without special team, do you?

they should do away with punting the ball on 4th down.  you get 4 chances to get a 1st down (10 yards)...if you can't do it, then let the other team try.  no team is special.  ha!

Kickoff will not be eliminated but instead it will be modify and adjust for safety reasons.
