Honestly it's quite... sad... that... a lot don't know how to speak hmong anymore..


I'm usually away from hmongs…

And one day I was with this hmong girl... we were talking about dishes.

And I could not say the word pots and pans and dishes in hmong!  It was on the edge of my tongue but... I couldn't get it out!

and then I finally was able to say it.. but it didn't sound right!!!

Aww man!

There are those preschool books for those who are insufficient at the Hmong language.  ;D

I met a young Hmong female doctor.

"Koj MUAJ insurance sav," she said.

"Muaj mas. Kuv twb muab rau koj ne," I said. (She was holding my insurance card.)

"Koj MUAJ insurance na. Kuv pom koj ib daim card MUAJ insurance tom Rice Street na," she said.

"Oh," I said. "Tsis yog kuv os. Nws muaj nws ib tug guy MUAG insurance os. Kuv tsis MUAG."
