Getting ready for Winter

I live out west and winters are very mild here, it has never snowed and we're lucky to see temperatures fall below freezing. This is the only life I have ever known, so for my brothers and sisters who lives in colder states... What is it that you must do or normally do to prepare for winter? And please don't leave out details.

She didn't mention antifreeze and tire changing issues..But like the sample photos I posted earlier, some install block heaters to help their cars start in cold freezing mornings..:

i drive 30 miles one way, in the country, to work.  it's not that bad.  things i put in the back, just incase.  tow strap, small tool bag with miscellaneous tools, windshield fluid, oil, coolant and what else

It super warm here lately
Almost hit 50 degree yesterday (that already hot for us)
No major snow in the ground yet
Going be mid 40s again today

I should be ice fishing already
But the ice conditions is unsafe
