Independent delivery jobs:doordash, Uber,etc.
« on: April 07, 2023, 11:07:33 PM »
Normal full time jobs are 9-5, some are really 8-5 and 5 days per week.  You’re stuck on a schedule and are required to show up or you can be fired. This is very intrusive to your lives.

Now enters Doordash, Uber, Grubhub and similar delivery jobs. People sign up to work.  You can choose your own time, your own schedule.  You are not paid by the hour but paid per delivery. You get to take on the delivery you want and decline the ones you don’t want to waste your time on. If the customer pays more (via tip) they get priority.   If you don’t feel like working, you simply stop your app and go take care of your personal affairs. If you feel like working, simply start your app and sign on to work. You can even be on vacation somewhere and work from there if you want.

Who wouldn’t want that kind of freedom?  If only these jobs paid more, they’d be ideal.

That’s what I used to do as an Interpreter. I took an
assignment only if I wanted.

I could just work on the phone or go right on
site physically.

Technology makes life so much different now than ever.

You can buy private individual insurance and even invest in 401(k) individually, Rock.

Medicare, bro.

Medicare is for seniors. But for younger people, Medicaid! :2funny:

I think that was a contraction of medical aid or something.

these type of gigs are just like any other independent contractor type of jobs..i've done one or two before..I work for Amazon's flex schedule before...it's all gravy when there's a lot of hours or assignments available. You can make some pretty good change...but it's never consistent...h aha then you deal with crazies..maybe put yourself in danger too...

i would just rather go to a temp agency, and sign up or let them know I want to work for the day..not all temp agency, but some are open and flexible...but even still, work assignments, hours avialable is never consistent...

only do this if you want to meet people for fun, so you don't go crazy staying home all day like me...lols or if you just need some extra money to save up for a big vacation or of course, if you're struggling to make ends meet..

but yeah..either open your own business, something your good at...or work your ass off 40 hours...

Buying private health insurance is expensive as fawk $1000-2000/ month
You got no employer giving you subsidies (healthcare benefits)
No 401k matching benefits
No vacation

You will spend all your money from UBER paying healthcare
Unless you get OBAMACARE through healthcare.gov

Its still expensive as fawk

TRUST ME
I had to help a family member sign up

  ;D

Medicare, bro.

Medicare is for old people
Medicaid is for poor people

Depending on your income and household
You might not qualify

UBER are self employer
They will have to buy their own insurance

You can get OBAMACARE through healthcare.gov to help you pay
But it still expensive as fawk

 ;D ;D

I wrote about healthcare and how its tied yo our workplace

if you just sit down and think it through
using basic reasoning logic and rational thinking
you will know, that it is the dumbest thing you will ever encounter

right now our healthcare coverage is tie to our workplace
you work and you get healthcare benefit through them (some people get no benefit at all)
you pay like $100-200 or whatever and your work place pick up like $800-1000
it's good when you are not sick and just getting routine check up
but when you get super sick and unable to work
no work=fire from work=no coverage

<<<<< this is my face... it is the dumbest thing i ever in this planet
