Reporter, such trauma could result in PTSD.  Many of our Hmong elders have bad behaviors such as gambling addictions or other obsessive behaviors  from their PTSD but they don’t know enough to go seek help. Therapists and psychologists generally can’t really help, but psychiatrists can help with meds that suppresses the obsession that stemmed from PTSD.

soldiers who have PTSD. She and her husband once said the
same thing—that it can’t be cured but just managed.

What do we make of divorcees who marry in
their teens but are now divorced and keep moving
from one marriage to another, YAX? Same stuff… Now
we know why there are so many divorces and trips
for mos ab.

I just listened to an entire session with a clinical psychiatrist who counsels people with betrayal trauma. They also have PTSD.
