I was at Best Buy a month ago and I saw 3 ultra portables.
Toshiba has one of the lightest ultra portable for a 13 inch screen.  I think it was 2.2 lbs.  But in term of design, I think it was Asus that was better but at 2.9 lbs is a little heavier.

mainly to run visual studio and other applications on the road.  It will not be used for a play toy cause the graphic is not going to handle the pc games, it's for business on the road or away from my desk, like developing at the park outside with the birds...etc

It does have a cool factor but I do not see it's worth.

I would rather go with the 13inch toshiba.  It weights 2.5lbs.

The one you are talking about is 11 inch at 2 lbs without keyboards and can't really be used as a laptop when say you are on a plane or on a train for serious work.

Keyboard and dock is included.  O0. Plus its touchscreen, that's what I want.  I have no use for a mouse.

Been using a 12" laptop for a long time now so screen is not an issue, and the correct term is slate not tablet.

Give us feedback after you use it for a while.

Personally, I can't recommend such device.  Work in hotel, yes.  Work on train, no.  Work on plane, no.  Work on your lap in the park, no. You need a table to actually use it as a desktop.  Touch screen is good for playing games but useless for anything else that require precision.  It hurts your hand after a long use especially if it is placed in a tilted position.  I wear glasses so the resolution at that screen size will hurt my eyes after an hour of usage.  $1,000 is way too much for a tablet or a laptop.

i hate big screen laptops.. i dont know about you guys but i like mines from 12-11 inches at the most only. anyways back to that tablet you were talking about i just think it's too much green for that samsung tablet. i would have to be a busy person who's always on the go to get one or to make use of it..

You should choose one that fits your needs.  We all have different needs.

I use mine mostly for writing papers and for programming.  So I like big screens.  17 would be great but that's not very portable.  So, I'm happy with a 15.2 inches MacBook pro.  By the way, it was given to me.  I would not buy a MacBook Pro.

I have no idea what the samsux or qp laptops are but I do have a macbook air.  It's light, it's energy efficient, pretty fast and get this, I've actually dropped it a few times; picked it up, opened it and fired it up!  It still worked!  So, it's only all of the above, but it's damn f'n durable!  How ya like that?!

I like them if they are free.  But if I have to buy I would buy the toshiba version which weigh less than the macbook air 13.
