No churches I know get funding from the gov't. I've never heard of any Hmong church getting any funding from the gov't. All the Hmong churches I know get their funds from the members... to pay for the Pastors/janitor/utilities, upkeeps, etc. etc. The building don't pay itself.
Now, I'm not saying that church can't get grants and some do like any other organizations, American citizens, busineses, etc. etc. If you shamans organized and get a non-profit organization going, you are free to apply for any grants that the gov't might have. But you can't used that funding to spread Shamanism.
From the Dept. of Justice: "
The Federal government does not set aside a separate funding stream specifically for faith-based groups. Rather, they are eligible to apply for government grants on an equal footing with other similar non-governmental organizations."
From HHS:
"The United States Supreme Court has said that faith-based organizations may not use direct government support to support "inherently religious" activities. Basically, it means you cannot use any part of a direct Federal grant to fund religious worship, instruction, or proselytizatio n. Instead, organizations may use government money only to support the non-religious social services that they provide. Therefore, faith-based organizations that receive direct governmental funds should take steps to separate, in time or location, their inherently religious activities from the government-funded services that they offer."So, your attacks on church getting free money to spread their religion is FALSE...
If you want to stop churches from applying and getting gov't grants, then stop ALL organization, businesses, American from doing the same.
