FLINT-ROD, you shouldn't be shooting deer with a 22 LR
« on: July 25, 2019, 07:49:13 AM »
it is illegal here
you need at least a center fire caliber
them rim ammo are too small and weak for big game hunting
ain't no deer or fish is worth going to jail for

plus you already know

hunting is hard!!!
might or might not bag one
so when I see one and i really want to eat
i gotta bring the right gun
don't want to miss my opportunity

my 30-06 for when i really want meat
and no mistake and playing around

ammo spell
p=pebhmong so you know im legit

i think you took things out of context...flin t was a baby back then when he shot a deer with his 22.

try giving that high powered rifle to a kid? guaranteed, no venison for you! ha!

there's plenty of high power rifle with almost no recoil
like the AR-15 (good ammo selection)
even a 243, has almost no recoil
your chances with kill just went up greatly

if you see a nice big buck like this with some nice pointer
might be one chance in a lifetime
don't be playing with them rim fire guns

hunting is hard
too many hunting pressure
if you think you can just go outside, and there 4-5 deer waiting for you
that's wishful thinking

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

gotta make good with any opportunity

Flint was between 8 and 9. He wasn't even 10 yet when he shot that deer with his .22.

No state will criminalize a child under 10, unless he had killed another  human. A deer isn't going to get him into trouble. Nor will a squirrel.

Don’t matter if you are a kid or not
It is still illegal to hunt with a 22LR

Ain’t no Deer is worth going to jail for

The AR15 with good ammo selection
Will do the job
Recoil is almost zero

You can use my gun if you want

while i agree with you in theory... people harvest deer on private land with lesser calibers all the time... just between you and i my brother in law who is lives in milwaukee owns land in the city... he visited last summer and i showed him some subsonic rounds for the 22 lr...  told him that he would have to zero in his rifle because the fps is a lot slower thus the bullet drops faster but still just as deadly... i gave him a box of these so he can harvest the deer that comes on his property without disturbing those surrounding him...

hmgrock... undisturbed/unpressurized mule deer like the ones i grew up shooting as kid in montana... 30 yards and they will still stop and look back at you after you've tried to kill them, i kid you not...

again, you are generalizing.. . i am telling you that my brother in law who lives in wisconsin harvest deer every year... he's not a trophy hunter... he likes eating venison... when he visited last year he must have brought over 50 pounds of venison... i have made jerky and sausage with it... yummy!

i realize you tend to focus on only certain things... 22 lr will put a deer down... i should clarify that when you shoot and miss mule deer will tun back and look at you... sure send that rifle and all of your assault rifles down to me... you might not ever see them again but thanks for letting me borrow them... lol!

come on man... just because you can't afford to do such activities doesn't make what others do wrong like bow hunting... it's not like you need the food to live off of... i guarantee that after a long day of hunting and fishing... you go to mcdonalds because it's more convenient... lol!
