...on the NM4, duck walk it, lean it, etc., and it felt like a big scooter with ample of storage room to me. Do your research and if you like it, go for it:

I think you can switch it to manual mode.  I like automatic so far on my moped.  Is gear shifting on a motorcycle more fun?  I am considering getting a Buell Blast.

That bike offers paddle shifting buttons mounted on the handlebar but whether it's on the handlebar for moto or on the steering wheel for auto, paddle shifting is not real manual shifting. Therefore, it's still an automatic.

Real manual tranny is much "more fun" for me.

If I was looking for a 500cc bike, the Buell Blast would be the last bike I would consider but since it's your money and choice, it's better to get the one you want.

Automotive Discussion / This reminded me of Bugatti's way
« on: April 14, 2016, 03:07:25 PM »
When the Bugatti Veyron first came out, I heard that you have to presently own an exoctic car before Bugatti dealerships sell you a Veyron.

Now, if you want to buy a Ford GT, you'll have to do some things for them first:

We Applied to Buy a $400,000 Ford GT. Here's What We Learned

Selling a six-figure supercar is a lot like parallel parking a six-figure supercar: Both require a deft touch and a little bit of luck.

By design, production for these machines never meets demand, so there is almost always a surplus of would-be buyers. The carbon-veined cars are essentially marketing exercises—howling 200 mile-per-hour billboards—so Ford doesn’t want them going to just anyone.

That’s why the company began taking applications online this morning to buy its 2017 GT supercar. That’s right, the process of plunking down $400,000 on a Ford is not unlike applying for a barista job at Starbucks.

Depends on what you're into...

I've been there a few times...I like to visit "The Market" in Seattle, visit some of it's mountains, cross the border to Canada, etc...

Automotive Discussion / Here are the Mercedez I was talking about

I'm not a Mercedez fan so it's not for me but could be for some Mercedez collectors:

Pair Of Unused Mercedes-Benz S-Class W140s Up For Sale For “Just” $300,000

Low-mileage used cars into their second decade are always an interesting find, but the asking price in this situation makes this one even more interesting, to say the least.

Here we have two extremely low-mileage Mercedes S-Classes sold as a pair, with the black 1992 600SEL having 1,499 miles (2,412km) on the clock and the 1994 400SE just 275 miles (443km). The seller claims that both cars run and drive virtually as new and that they were always stored in a climate controlled garage.

The provided photos do reveal the stunning, factory-fresh condition of both cars, but frankly, the $300k asking price is borderline ridiculous, despite the fact that the W140s are known for their over-engineered nature and quality.

A few weeks ago, someone was asking $200,000 for an E30 M3 with 6,000 miles on it, which is also an absurd amount of money, but we acknowledge that the collector’s appeal can sometimes drive prices on stratospheric levels.

Nothing new for those that want it. In fact there were a couple of old 90's Mercedez 300? that the seller is asking 300k for the other day...

Biker arrested after posting video of 160-mph police chase

PEQUANNOCK, N.J. — A biker has been arrested four months after police say he led them on a chase through the streets of New Jersey that reached 160 mph — a pursuit he recorded on video and posted online.

Anthony Darrigo, 20, of Wanaque, was charged Wednesday with eluding police with risk of severe bodily injury and resisting arrest.

A police officer began chasing Darrigo on Dec. 10 after seeing him driving the motorcycle on its rear wheel on state Route 23. But instead of pulling over, Darrigo sped up, authorities said.

Officers from Pequannock and Riverdale later joined the pursuit.

A video from Darrigo’s helmet camera showed him weaving in and out of traffic on a highway and through a residential area, where the pursuit was then called off.

Darrigo then fled northbound onto Interstate 287. His speedometer showed him going 160 mph.

“Unbelievable, insane disregard for public safety is what pops into my mind,” Pequannock Police Capt. Christopher De Puyt told WNBC-TV.

Officers couldn’t read the motorcycle’s license plate because it had been bent up under the rear fender, De Puyt told the Daily Record.

But the video was posted on YouTube and police traced it to Darrigo.

Darrigo told NBC 4 in New York on Wednesday that he was “nervous” when police tried to pull him over.

“I don’t know why I did it, just all in the heat of the moment,” he said.

Police have seized his dirt bike, helmet, camera, laptop and jacket.

Darrigo, whose leg is broken from a bike crash about a month ago, said he’s been riding his entire life and will never stop. He said he plans to ride more carefully in the future.

Unfortunately... it's for businesses only.
I will probably never go out at night to any club.
I was told by my co-worker(he's been there before) that the people at the plant warn him about going out at night.

I've been to Mexico a few times and it just depends on where you go exactly...

... 100% of the fault lies on the stupid dumbass driver that chose to race where he's not suppose to (public streets):

Judge rules Porsche not to blame for Paul Walker's death

Porsche was not to blame for the high-speed crash that killed Fast & Furious star Paul Walker and his friend and driver Roger Rodas, a California court has ruled.

US district judge Philip S Gutierrez said Kristine Rodas had failed to prove her case that the Carrera GT model being driven by her husband at the time of the fatal crash lacked vital safety features. “Plaintiff has provided no competent evidence that Rodas’s death occurred as a result of any wrongdoing on the part of defendant,” he wrote in a judgment at the Los Angeles superior court.

Nürburgring Speed Limit Lifted—Will the Dodge Viper Reclaim its Throne?

It was March 2015 when a Nissan GTR left the track at Nürburgring and ended up killing a spectator. Officials took quick action and imposed a speed limit of 124 mph on that section of track and 155 mph on two other sections. They also modified the track where the accident occurred to prevent cars from going airborne. This ended the race to set Nürburgring track records, at least temporarily.

After much push back, officials have lifted those speed limits, giving cars like the Dodge Viper ACR a chance at setting new records.

Not every company took their cars to Nürburgring, but the previous-generations of the Chevy Corvette Z06 and Dodge Viper ACR have both taken their turns in the past. They’re the two fastest American production cars to tackle the track. Lifting the speed limits at Nürburgring means we’ll likely see the newest versions of these cars back on the track, maybe even joined by the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang or GT supercar.

The real interesting matchup will be between the new Corvette Z06 and Viper ACR. The outgoing ACR once held the lap record overall, and still holds the record for American cars. But in order for the new Viper ACR to win back its crown, it will have to shave 15 seconds off its previous time of 7:12.13—all while holding off the Z06 in the process.

That’s no easy feat, but with the Porsche 918′s blistering 6:57.00 lap time, it’s a feat that Dodge engineers will hopefully try to accomplish. The 645-horsepower Viper ACR is an impressive car, so we’ve got our fingers crossed.

my s2k or teggie...

today as I was pulling into my apt complex... there was another s2k coming the other way on the road... before he turned... he flashed his lights at me...

Whenever I drove my teggie around... if another teggie rolled by, they'd flashed their lights too...

Obviously the one's that did, they appeared as the car was a bit of an enthusiast's car as well.

But I just wonder...

All the evo owners.. if they talk to each other like that..

the subie owners...

the g35's....

the 350's....

etc etc etc...

There's no such things as "cars talking to other cars" unless you're talking about some cartoon car shows...

However, some car owners do talk to other car owners especially online...

As far as specific auto model owners acknowledging each other on the road, yes that exist. When I owned my Wrangler and Vette, I get waves from other owners.

Why doesn't your insurance  company sue the uninsured guy?

I don't think they sue but some insurance companies do put the other party in collection in hopes of recouping something back...
